The primary goal of the CYC is to provide safe, all-inclusive, and fun monthly FNL events for Carlisle middle school-aged residents (grades 5-8) from public and private schools, as well as those who are home-schooled, to socialize with their peers. These monthly events have become known as Friday Night Live (FNL).  FNL is typically held on the first Friday of the month in the Corey Gym and Exercise Room at the Carlisle Public School from 7:00 – 9:00 p.m., unless pre-empted by a scheduling conflict or occurring on a snow day. FNL is run by members of the CYC with help from parent chaperones. Although FNL is held at the Carlisle Public School, FNL is sponsored and partially funded by the Town of Carlisle rather than by the Carlisle Public School. FNL events vary from month to month with music for dancing, basketball, ping pong, checkers/chess, arts and crafts, and occasional contests.  Sometimes a movie is shown, other times we have a DJ for dancing. Occasionally, we have themed events such as an obstacle course challenge, dodgeball tournament and/or karaoke competition. In an effort to streamline the registration process, the Carlisle Youth Commission has changed the registration and payment method for Friday Night Live (FNL) events. Even if you have already registered your child for 2024-25 FNL events you will need to re-register your child again. The fee per FNL event is $15, this helps to defray the cost for our DJ, decorations, SWAG, custodians, equipment and pizza, snacks and drinks. Once registered for an event, your child will receive tickets at the door, which they can use as collateral for pizza, snacks, seltzer and/or photos at the photo booth. In order to attend any FNL event, your eligible child MUST BE REGISTERED IN ADVANCE. WE WILL NOT PERMIT ANY CHILD THAT IS NOT FULLY REGISTERED IN ADVANCE TO ATTEND AN FNL EVENT.  IF YOUR CHILD IS NOT FULLY REGISTERED, THEY WILL BE TURNED AWAY AT THE DOOR AND WILL BE REQUIRED TO CALL YOU TO PICK THEM BACK UP.  WE REALLY WOULD LIKE TO PREVENT THIS FROM EVER HAPPENING – SO PLEASE REGISTER YOUR CHILD IN ADVANCE. THERE WILL BE NO REGISTRATION AVAILABLE AT THE DOOR. All parents of middle school-aged children who participate in FNL are obligated to chaperone at least one (1) FNL during the school year.   Dates with reminders about FNL are announced in the Carlisle Mosquito, The Buzz, and in Carlisle Middle School Announcements. For detailed information about Friday Night Live, click here (PDF). Financial Assistance is available by reaching out to Stefani Keene at stefanikeene@gmail.com. 2024-25 CARLISLE YOUTH COMMISSION Stefani Keene, ChairChelsea MascariHeather WrightBrooke MackintoshBillie Jo Kelly CHAPERONING AT FRIDAY NIGHT LIVE The Carlisle Youth Commission (“CYC”) needs ten (10) to fifteen (15) parents/guardians (over 18 years of age) to operate Friday Night Live (“FNL”) events and activities. By registering your child for FNL, you agree to submit a CORI, and once cleared, your sign-up to chaperone at least one FNL event during the 2024-25 Carlisle Public School year will be approved.  Please note if you already have a valid CORI on file with Carlisle Public School you will not need to complete a new CORI.  If you do not have a CORI on file or your CORI has expired (they are valid for three years) you will be asked to submit a CORI to Carlisle Public School. Friday Night Live Chaperoning Sign-Up I agree to sign up to chaperone at least one Friday Night Live (FNL) event during the 2024-25 school year and have a valid CORI on file with Carlisle Public School and if not, will submit a CORI form for approval with the Carlisle Public School.
