We provide the shuttles, but you may use your own. This is a recreational and developmental program.

Like to take your school aged children out to eat with you at a fine dining or large social event but you’re a little afraid how they might behave? Actually, the earlier the better when it comes to teaching children dining etiquette. Sam Sifton, Food Editor for the New York Times states, “Kids are awesome, and they should be a part of the dining experience,” says Sifton. “Anytime we go t a restaurant, we are entering into a social contract with everyone else in the restaurant. I’m not trying to ruin your good time, and you’re not trying to ruin mine. The Carlisle Youth Commission (CYC) is a town committee made up of five (5) to eight (8) Carlisle parents/guardians. The primary goal of the CYC is to provide safe, all-inclusive, and fun monthly FNL events for Carlisle middle school-aged residents (grades 5-8) from public and private schools, as well as those who are home-schooled, to socialize with their peers. These monthly events have become known as Friday Night Live (FNL). FNL is typically held on the first Friday of the month in the Corey Gym and Exercise Room at the Carlisle Public School from 7:00 – 9:30 p.m., unless pre-empted by a scheduling conflict or occurring on a snow day. FNL is run by members of the CYC with help from parent chaperones. Although FNL is held at the Carlisle Public School, FNL is sponsored and partially funded by the Town of Carlisle rather than by the Carlisle Public School. FNL events vary from month to month with music for dancing, basketball, ping pong, checkers/chess, arts and crafts, and occasional contests. Sometimes a movie is shown, other times we have a DJ for dancing. Occasionally, we have themed events such as an obstacle course challenge, dodgeball tournament and/or karaoke competition.

Parents report that kids come home from Kids’ Test Kitchen EXCITED about fresh ingredients and new recipes! Reluctant eaters learn that food is safe and fun! And everyone practices essential life skills like teamwork, time management, patience, along with the obvious skills like slicing, measuring, and cooking! On a mission to redefine kid food; Kids’ Test Kitchen’s enthusiastic Facilitators get eaters of all ages and abilities, cooking, tasting, and thinking about healthy ingredients! Kids’ Test Kitchen presents kids the opportunity to explore new or familiar foods in their raw, unmanipulated state. Then, working as a team, they’ll slice, dice, peel, measure, and cook until they’ve prepared the finished dish. Class closes with an opportunity to taste the result of their hard work. Students receive a printed recipe card and the focal ingredient - or a sample of the finished dish - so they can show off what they learned! Even the most reluctant eaters enjoy Kids’ Test Kitchen, where participation is encouraged, and the choice to taste is always one’s own. Lessons are planned to celebrate seasonal produce, whole grains, and legumes. Yes – join us again! Each series of classes offers fresh new recipes to prepare and explore! Kids have food allergies, but they shouldn’t miss out on the fun. We know allergies and can work around them, making sure that everyone is having fun and staying safe.
*Families who have students with allergies or other necessary dietary modifications will be required to complete our diet modification form before the first class. Let us know about your student https://kidstestkitchen.com/prep *Recreation Staff will plan to meet the children at the end of the school day and walk with them to class.

We wanted to update everyone on our waitlist policy now and going forward. Theater programs work differently than most activities. Most theater programs hold auditions to make sure their cast is balanced for parts in a show. We do not hold auditions and welcome all but do need to take measures to make sure our casts are balanced enough with different ages for our program to work. Musical Theater Experiences reserves the right to take children off the waitlist that will ensure a balanced cast. We always have the goal of making this experience the most successful and joyful as possible for your children and appreciate your understanding. – Jennifer Jarvis

Instructor: Magic Brush Pottery
Have you wanted your child to try paining pottery, creating with fused glass, canvas painting or wood mosaics. Here it is! During this class we will do 1 paint pottery, 1 week of fused glass, and 1 week of either canvas painting or creating with mosaics. Magic Brush will pick the pieces and teach designs with a step-by-step class, kids will pick their colors. Pottery paint is non-toxic and washable. Mosaics and painting on a canvas are decorative pieces and we use acrylic paint to decorate the pieces. All pieces will be returned by the end of the session. *Recreation Staff will plan to meet the children at the end of the school day and walk with them to class.
