Story Lab is a hands-on, imagination-powered creative writing camp designed for curious, creative kids who love stories, characters, games, films, and big ideas—or who are excited to discover their voice as a writer. Across four mornings, students will explore storytelling through character creation, worldbuilding, dialogue, plot twists, and genre play (fantasy, sci-fi, realistic fiction, and more). Activities are fast-paced, collaborative, and creativity-first—perfect for both confident writers and kids who are just getting started.
Students will:
- Create original characters with goals, flaws, and secrets
- Build unique story worlds, from realistic settings to fantasy realms
- Experiment with dialogue, conflict, and cliffhangers
- Write short scenes, story openings, and “what happens next?” moments
- Collaborate, share ideas, and grow confidence as storytellers
The week culminates in each student developing a mini story project they’re proud of—no pressure, no grades, just creativity and momentum. Teaching Style: This camp blends clear storytelling tools with playful, low-pressure exercises. Think writing games, imaginative prompts, group challenges, and guided creativity—not worksheets or lectures. Students are encouraged to take creative risks and follow their interests. Great For:
- Kids who love books, movies, shows, or games
- Creative thinkers with big imaginations
- Writers of all levels, from beginners to advanced
- Kids looking for a fun, social, creativity-boosting summer camp
