Session II: Advanced Beginner: July 14, 16, 18
Time: 9:00-11:00am
Who: Ages 6-9
Fee: $500 per session
Location: Barking Dog Farm, 84 Mill Pond Road, Carlisle
Instructor: Joy Sigona
Beginner: Riders will have unmounted and mounted instruction where they learn the basics of grooming, tacking, mounting, basic steering, and about position while walking and some trotting.
Advanced Beginner: Riders continue to learn horsemanship, basic first aid, expanded knowledge of equipment and will also continue to develop mounted skills at the canter, over poles and small jumps. Students must have experience cantering off the longe line for this session.
All students should have a hard sole shoe with a heel (paddock boots recommended), long pants (leggings are okay, but riding pants recommended), and an approved riding helmet. All of these can be found at Horseman’s Exchange in Littleton. They have consignment items as well, which is nice for growing kids!
Please contact Joy if you have questions about equipment or would like to arrange a meet and greet at the farm prior to the start of classes. Phone: 978-771-2134 or Email: j_cuttino@hotmail.com
