Embrace self-sufficiency and sustainability as we delve into earth-friendly gardening practices that prioritize soil health while also exploring the bounty of foraging. Learn how to set up a garden space with less weeds and work (no-till, sheet-mulching, and low-to-no input gardening practices will be discussed). Then get excited about the abundance of local food and medicine right in your landscape, with in-person samples and real uses for them (both culinarily and in some cases medicinally). From mushrooms (e.g. the common but sometimes confusing Turkey Tail mushroom) and tree bark to greens, discover the culinary and medicinal potential of nature's bounty. *Please let the instructor know if you have any allergies. Bring a notebook!
